Plugins Survey

I have added a contact form page. It’s the Plugins Survey page.

If my plugins’ users are so kind to complete it, it’ll allow me to know who uses what and where and what are the most wanted features for new releases of these plugins.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Wonder if these nerdy posts are related to my job, well, the answer is no. As a good friend once told me, "one never heals from programming!". It must be true in my case....

RSS Just Better wp plugin Version 1.3 Released

Here we go again. Previous version was 1.1. Version 1.2 has never been released.

Long due release. Changes are as follows:

  • New Feature: It’s possible to disable the reverse chronological order established by default. Normally, this results in a chronological order but not always. I.e. Google news will not be in chronological order.
  • New Feature: Added “Serbia” to the list of Google News countries
  • New Feature: Added “More Top News” to the list of Google News topics
  • Change: Added more comments to code
  • Change: Google News attributes for shortcode are now the same as for widget variables (to avoid confusion)
  • Bug Fix: Non-latin alphabeths and non-standard chars (Google news locations) are now displayed properly
  • Bug Fix: Image URL for rss icon in shortcode is now correct
  • Bug Fix: Standard Google News feed URL has been changed (by Google)
  • Bug Fix: Location as null string does not deafult to usa (??) (Google news)
  • Bug Fix: urlencoding text for Google News searches

Google News Just Better retirement

I have released a new version of my plugin Google News Just Better, the 1.4 purely to inform the users, it wont be maintained any longer. It still perfectly works with the current version of wordpress, the 3.4.1 but all its functionalities are taken over by RSS just better my other plugin.
So please, use this instead.

RSS Just Better wp plugin Version 1.1 Released

Here we go again. Yes, previous version was 0.8. I have skipped two versions.

Still no possibility of viewing images/media in this version, however:

  • The date (weekdays & months) is now “localized” (=displayed in the language your wordpress is installed)
  • The user is able to display items published only by a given amount of hours (for infrequently updated feeds)
  • The user is able to display Google News feeds given the new params: localization, topic or search keyword(s), local (for Us & Ca news only)
  • The preview of the excerpt on mouse-over is disabled if the excerpt is ticked-off (widget)/set to TRUE (shortcode)
  • Documentation and explanations have been improved
  • Error messages are now better detailed
  • Fixed path to RSS image from ‘../RSS-just-better/..’ to ‘../rss-just-better/..’ (thanks Mike)

As a matter of fact, this plugin now can fully replace my other plugin Google News just better. I am checking how to retire it elegantly.
